Photos and Update by Dave Hausmann
The 5th in a series of high
school workshops was held on April 8, 2010. The workshop, which was
instructed by Dennis Hirsch owner and operator of "H&H Repair", showed the
students how to dismantle a 350 turbo-matic transmission. Dennis explained
what each component did in the transmission during the tear-down. As you
can tell by the photos, used car parts are dirty and Dennis thanks James
Morris for his help in cleaning up the shop after the workshop.
The next workshop will be
held on April 15th at Catlin's Car Clinic. Business owner/operator Joel
Catlin will show the students how automatic transmissions have advanced
by explaining how an electronic 4L60E transmission works.
