Photos and Update by Dave Hausmann
The first "High School Workshop" was held on Feb.18, 2010. This workshop,
along with several others focusing on car repair and restoration was a
request of club members Steven Palmer and James Morris. They asked if club
members would be willing to show a few high school students some of the
basics of restoring cars. The first workshop was instructed by Jake
Kleindl and Dave Hausmann and covered the basics of dent repair utilizing
hammer/dollie and stud gun techniques. The students performed "hands-on"
dent repair on a few old damaged car hoods dontated by Wegner Auto. Additional workshops will cover, body filler and panel preparation for
paint, patch panel repair, paint mixing and spraying techniques,
performance upgrades, brake repair and the basics of how an automatic
transmission works. The next scheduled workshop, covering body filler and
panel preparation, will be held Thursday, March 4th.
