SUBJECT: Proposed By-Law Change

Enclosed is the Street Masters’ proposed change to Article VI of the Club by-laws addressing the timeline for officer elections.
After discussion at the August Club meeting, the Board of Directors agreed to propose
that officer elections be held in August rather than January.
This change will be presented and voted on at the September 21, 2020 Club meeting.
A 2/3 majority vote of the paid membership in attendance at the meeting can amend the by-laws.
The change to an August election would coincide with the yearly payment of membership dues which
is also outlined in the by-laws as the second week of August.
Membership dues and officer elections would run from August to August of each year.
This change would give current officers time to finish their duties
turning over the “books” and duties to the newly elected officers
for the September meeting. For this year only, if the change is adopted, officer elections
will take place at the September meeting and the newly elected officers will take over in October.
Plan to attend the September Club meeting to be involved in this discussion. I
